Reykjavík City Centre · Family-Run Guesthouse
Where Iceland's spirit meets a home away from home
Down-to-earth, family-run, and genuinely welcoming — right in the heart of Reykjavík.
Named after the legendary Norse explorer, Eric the Red Guesthouse carries that same adventurous spirit — a warm base to return to after chasing waterfalls, geysers, or the Northern Lights.
Hosts Elza and Roko are always on hand with honest local tips and the kind of warmth no big hotel can replicate. Even Medo the dog will greet you at the door.
Included in every stay. No catches, no extras — just a proper start before the day's adventures.
"If you want to feel yourself exactly as at home and enjoy the city and trips arround Iceland I highly recommend to stay here. It is super clean, cozy and you can consider the owners as your extended familly on Iceland ❤️"
"Amazing experience. Its is super clean, quite and placed in strict Reykjavik center. The hosts are really friendly and kind, constantly on your disposal. This place feels like home and I can highly recommend it to everyone visiting Reykjavik. ❤️"
"Very nice location, very good price. The rooms look good, ambient is very homey and the owner Elza was really nice to us. We also got some useful information about Reykjavik from Roko, who works there. They also have a really sweet dog named Medo. We will definitely come again!"
"Loved our stay over here, our first night in reykjavik. Situated next to the main church and its a 10 minute walk from bus terminal. Rooms were clean and has nice patio outside for you to sit and relax"
"This guesthouse is perfect. Located just next to the church. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room is decent. Shared bathroom is quite nice with decent water pressure and shampoo/shower gel. Room is big enough with a single sink and a small water kettle."
"Good place to stay for this value 💰 city centre next to the beautiful church. Some rooms are really big, some are very small just for one person enough..good to stayed"
